Johnny Test is a cartoon series that revolves around the titular character, Johnny, and his adventures with his sisters and his dog, Dukey, as they use Johnny's various inventions to explore their town and beyond. In season 5 episode 11, titled "Johnny's Rat Race," Johnny and Dukey get into a race to see who can get the most rats for Johnny's latest invention, the Rat-O-Matic.
The episode starts with Johnny introducing his newest invention, the Rat-O-Matic, to his sisters and Dukey. It's a futuristic device capable of catching, tagging, and monitoring rats. Johnny explains that he wants to help the town get rid of their rat problem by trapping them and studying their behavior. Susan and Mary are skeptical of the device, but Johnny is excited to test it out. He sets up a competition with Dukey to catch as many rats as possible, with the loser having to clean up the lab.
Johnny starts off strong, setting up the Rat-O-Matic in various locations around the house and town. He catches a few rats and tags them, but seems to be having difficulty getting a large number. Meanwhile, Dukey is using his keen sense of smell to locate rat nests and catch them in traps. He quickly gains the upper hand over Johnny, who is becoming increasingly frustrated.
As the competition heats up, the sisters notice some strange behavior from the rats. They seem to be acting smarter and more coordinated than usual. Susan explains that rats are intelligent and social creatures, and they may be communicating with each other about the traps. They suggest that Johnny try using a new bait to lure in more rats.
Johnny agrees and comes up with the idea to use cheese from every country in the world to entice the rats. He and Dukey set off on a globe-trotting adventure, collecting cheese from all over the world. They encounter various obstacles and challenges, including a cheese-loving tribe in the Amazon rainforest and a cheese-themed amusement park.
With their newfound supply of cheese, Johnny and Dukey set up a trap that covers the entire town, hoping to catch as many rats as possible. The competition is close, with both sides catching a high number of rats. However, just as they are about to declare a winner, a surprising twist is revealed.
The rats have been working together all along, feigning being caught in the traps to learn more about the Rat-O-Matic and how to outsmart it. They reveal that they've been building their own device, the Rat-Op-Toma-Tron 3000, which can trap and tag humans. Johnny and Dukey are shocked and unable to stop the rats as they activate their device and trap the humans.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Johnny, his sisters, and Dukey are trapped, and the rats remain in control. It's a fun and exciting episode that showcases Johnny's inventiveness and the dynamic relationships between the characters. The twist ending leaves viewers on the edge of their seats and eager to see what happens next.
