Joey season 1 episode 13, titled "Joey and the Taste Test," follows Joey as he becomes a spokesperson for a new energy drink called "Enlighten." The episode begins with Joey getting ready for his commercial shoot for the product. He is excited about the opportunity as it will be his first paid acting job in LA. However, he's nervous as he's heard the drink tastes terrible and he doesn't want to endorse something he doesn't like.

To overcome his fear, Joey decides to do a taste test with his friends, Michael and Zach. They try the drink and all agree that it's terrible. Joey decides to be honest with the company, but when he gets to the commercial set, he meets the CEO of the company who is impressed with Joey's honesty and offers him a higher rate to endorse the drink.

Throughout the episode, we see Joey struggling with his moral principles and realizing that he can't sell out. This dilemma is highlighted when he finds out that Michael, who was also offered the same endorsement deal, accepted it despite hating the drink. Joey gets upset and tells Michael that he's disappointed in him. Michael explains that he really needed the money, and Joey understands that it's not easy to make a living in LA.

Later, Joey has a conversation with his sister, Gina, who gives him some valuable advice. She points out that in Hollywood, people often do things they don't want to do to get ahead, but Joey shouldn't lose sight of his principles. He should always try to do the right thing, even if it's not the most lucrative option.

As the shoot goes on, Joey can't bring himself to promote the drink. He admits to the CEO and the crew that he doesn't like it and that he can't in good conscience endorse it. The CEO respects Joey's honesty, and Joey ends up getting the same deal, but for a different product line—the Enlighten candy bar, which he likes and feels good about endorsing.

The episode ends with Joey feeling proud of himself for staying true to his values, knowing that he can represent something he actually likes and believes in.

Overall, "Joey and the Taste Test" is an entertaining and thought-provoking episode that highlights the struggle between doing the right thing and making a living in Hollywood. It's also a great showcase for Joey's character, who proves that he's a good guy with a strong integrity, and emphasizes that money isn't the most important thing when deciding what role we take.
