Jett season 1 episode 5, titled "Bennie," follows Jett as she tries to balance her job as a thief with her responsibilities as a mother. The episode opens with Jett meeting with her mentor Charlie to discuss their next heist, but Jett is distracted by thoughts of her daughter, Alice.
Meanwhile, we see a man named Bennie who has just been released from prison after serving time for a crime he didn't commit. Bennie is determined to clear his name and get revenge on those who framed him, even if it means breaking the law.
As Jett prepares for the heist, she is approached by Bennie, who asks for her help in stealing evidence that will prove his innocence. Jett is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to help Bennie out of sympathy for his situation and a desire to protect her own daughter.
The heist goes smoothly, but Jett begins to suspect that Bennie may not be telling her the whole truth about his situation. She decides to do some investigating of her own and discovers that Bennie may have been involved in the crime he was accused of.
Jett is torn between wanting to help Bennie clear his name and protecting her own interests, but ultimately decides to turn the evidence she stole over to the authorities. Bennie is arrested once again, but Jett is left with mixed feelings about her involvement in the situation.
The episode ends with Jett reflecting on the delicate balance she must maintain between her criminal career and her responsibilities as a mother, knowing that one misstep could have serious consequences for both her and Alice.
