Jett is an intense and intriguing crime drama series that follows the life of a professional thief, Daisy "Jett" Kowalski (Carla Gugino), who attempts to leave the world of crime behind and start a new life with her daughter. She gets immersed in a new job that requires her to use her skills as a thief to steal a ring, a job that introduces her to a host of new characters and challenges.
The first episode of Jett, titled "Daisy," starts with Jett being released from prison, after serving her time for a high-risk theft. She reunites with her former flame, Quinn (Mustafa Shakir), and learns that he has been building a fail-safe plan to rob a formidable crime boss, Charlie Baudelaire (Giancarlo Esposito).
Quinn wants Jett to join him, but she refuses, explaining that she wants to start a new life with her nine-year-old daughter, Alice (Violet McGraw). Quinn understands but also warns her that she cannot escape the life of a thief. But Jett is determined to live a better life and leave behind her dangerous past.
Jett visits her old friend, Evans (Gil Bellows), who runs a private detective agency, and he offers her a job. The job involves her stealing a ring from a person's house, but the job is much harder than she expected. She must contend with a security system and a precious dog guarding the property. Jett manages to successfully steal the ring, but she is caught on camera, and her face is captured.
On her way back home, Jett is stopped by a man named Bennie (Christopher Backus), who blackmails her into giving him the ring. He threatens to reveal her true identity to the police, which could land her back in jail. Desperate to protect her daughter, Jett agrees to give Bennie the ring, and he lets her go.
Jett returns to her home and is greeted by her daughter, who is happy to see her mother again. However, Jett receives an unexpected visitor, a crime boss named Duke (Dylan Baker), who holds her responsible for the failure of a previous job that she worked on before going to jail. He wants her to do another job for him, but Jett refuses, explaining that she has already turned away from a life of crime and wants to live a better life for her daughter.
Duke doesn't take kindly to her refusal and threatens to harm her daughter if she doesn't agree. Jett is put in a difficult situation; she must decide whether to risk her daughter's safety or return to a life of crime to protect her. She turns to her friend Evans for advice, but he tells her that there's no easy way out of this situation.
As the episode draws to a close, Jett realizes that she has no choice but to steal a valuable possession from a billionaire's mansion for Duke. However, while in the mansion, she encounters a group of armed robbers who attempt to rob the place as well. Jett is caught up in the chaos and must fight to find her way out.
