Jessie & The Gumboot Kids is an enchanting television show for children that takes them on a journey of discovery, imagination and adventure as they explore nature and the great outdoors. In episode 12 of Jessie & The Gumboot Kids, titled Beavers, we are introduced to a new set of furry friends, the beavers, as Jessie takes us on an exciting journey down the river.
The episode starts with Jessie, the lead character of the show, walking along the river bank. As she stops to rest, she sees a family of beavers working hard to build their dam. Jessie is fascinated by the beavers and decides to learn more about them. She calls the Gumboot Kids, her friends who are always up for an adventure, and together they embark on a journey down the river to observe the beavers in their natural habitat.
As they paddle down the river in their canoe, Jessie shares some interesting facts about beavers with the Gumboot Kids. For instance, did you know that beavers have strong sharp teeth that never stop growing? They need to constantly gnaw on wood to keep their teeth from getting too long. Jessie also talks about how beavers build dams to create ponds, which provide them with a safe and comfortable environment to live in.
The Gumboot Kids are full of questions, and Jessie happily answers them all. They are eager to observe the beavers up close and personal. They soon spot a beaver diving into the water and then resurfacing with a small branch in its mouth. The beaver swims to its dam and starts to use the branch to reinforce the structure. The Gumboot Kids are amazed by how hard-working the beavers are.
As they continue along the river, they spot another beaver gnawing on some wood. Jessie tells them that beavers use wood to build their dams and that they are masters of engineering. The beaver they observe is using its sharp teeth to strip the bark from the branch and then gnawing on the wood to create a flat surface. The Gumboot Kids are impressed by how the beaver is able to use its teeth to manipulate the wood to suit its needs.
As they paddle along the river, Jessie notices something interesting. She sees that the beavers have created a channel that diverts the water away from their dam. She tells the Gumboot Kids that the beavers use this channel to control the water level in their pond. If the water gets too high, it could damage their dam, but if it gets too low, it could make it easier for predators to attack them. By creating a channel, the beavers are able to keep the water at the ideal level.
As they approach the beavers' dam, Jessie and the Gumboot Kids notice something strange. They see that one part of the dam is missing. Jessie realizes that the dam has been damaged by the heavy rain that fell the night before. She tells the Gumboot Kids that this is when beavers work the hardest. The beavers will need to quickly repair the damage before the water level gets too low and their pond dries up.
The Gumboot Kids are impressed by how hard-working the beavers are. They are amazed by how the beavers are able to use their sharp teeth and strong bodies to manipulate the wood and create a safe and comfortable environment for themselves. They learn about the beavers' industrious nature and how they work tirelessly to ensure the survival of their family and community.
In the end, Jessie and the Gumboot Kids bid farewell to the beavers and thank them for the wonderful experience. They realize that nature is a magical place full of wonder and that there is always something new to discover and learn. They paddle back down the river, happy and rich with newfound knowledge and appreciation for the world around them.
