As the sun rises on the lush green landscape, Wade teams up with his local guide and sets out in his custom-made fishing boat. The sprawling Rio Roosevelt snakes through the jungle, canopied by trees that tower over 100 feet high. A fitting backdrop for this modern-day adventurer on a mission.
The team begin their search in one of the river's many tributaries, equipped with an assortment of high-tech equipment including underwater cameras and a drone to search air and water. But, as ever, the river has some surprises in store for Wade and his team.

Despite this early setback, Wade continues his search, and the team eventually stumbles upon a mysterious lagoon. The lagoon is eerily quiet, save for the sound of a lone Howler monkey calling in the distance.
As they move in closer to investigate, they notice a strange disturbance in the water, which quickly grows in size. Suddenly, the water erupts, sending waves crashing over the sides of their boat. A huge tail smashes the water's surface, and Wade realizes they have stumbled upon the resting place of the Jurassic River Beast.
