In Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 1, titled "Chapter Sixty-Five," the story picks up where it left off in the previous season's finale. Jane is torn between her love for Rafael and what she believes is her responsibility to support her ex-husband, Michael's, wife as she undergoes treatment for cancer.
The episode kicks off with a surprise visit from Michael, who was presumed dead for several seasons before being revealed to have faked his own death. She hires a private investigator to help clear her name and is determined to find out who was really responsible for her sister's death. Her investigation takes her down some unexpected paths and she puts everything on the line to clear her name.
Throughout the episode, we also get glimpses into the lives of Jane's extended family and friends. Xo is preparing for her upcoming wedding to Rogelio, which is threatened by his desire to have a baby with his new wife. Alba is dealing with the aftermath of coming out as undocumented and trying to find her place in the world.
As always, the episode is full of humor, heart, and some truly touching moments. It sets the stage for what promises to be another exciting season of the show. Fans of Jane the Virgin won't want to miss this episode.
