The Killer is the tenth episode of the eighth season of the American legal drama television series JAG. The episode was directed by Scott Brazil and written by R. Scott Gemmill. It first aired on CBS on December 11, 2002.
In the episode, a U.S. Navy SEAL is killed during a training exercise, leading to an investigation by the JAG team led by advocate Harmon "Harm" Rabb (David James Elliott) and Lieutenant Colonel Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie (Catherine Bell). The SEAL's death appears to be accidental at first, but the team soon discovers evidence that suggests foul play may have been involved.
The investigation becomes even more complicated when it is revealed that the SEAL, Chief Petty Officer Andy Twitchell (William Mapother), had a history of insubordination and violent behavior. The team discovers that Twitchell had been involved in a physical altercation with another SEAL, but the SEAL denies any involvement in Twitchell's death.
Meanwhile, Harm and Mac are dealing with personal issues. Harm is coping with the recent death of his father and the financial burdens that accompany it, while Mac is struggling with her feelings for Harm and trying to move on from her failed engagement to her ex-fiancé.
As the investigation unfolds, the JAG team discovers that there may be more than one potential suspect in Twitchell's death. They uncover evidence that points to a plot by a rival SEAL team to steal intelligence from Twitchell's unit. As the team continues to dig deeper, they realize that they may be in danger themselves, and they must race against time to solve the case before it's too late.
The episode features several intense action scenes, as well as emotional moments between the characters as they struggle to deal with their personal and professional challenges. The Killer is a classic episode of JAG, showcasing the strong writing, acting, and directing that made the show a hit for ten seasons.
