In JAG season 5 episode 7, titled "Rogue," the audience is introduced to Navy Commander Ted Lindsey. Commander Lindsey is a former SEAL who has recently gone rogue and is suspected of smuggling opium out of Afghanistan. Harm and Meg are assigned to investigate Lindsey and, if necessary, bring him back to the U.S. for trial.
As they arrive in Afghanistan, Harm and Meg are met with hostility from the local authorities who do not want them there and do not understand why they are investigating a fellow American. However, after some convincing, they are allowed to proceed with their investigation.
Their first stop is a local opium den where they find Lindsey hiding out. However, when they try to capture him, he manages to escape. Meg is frustrated by this failure, but Harm reminds her that they are dealing with a highly-skilled Navy SEAL who knows how to evade capture.
The investigation takes them to a small village where they believe Lindsey has set up a drug-smuggling operation. While there, they witness an exchange between Lindsey's men and a group of local villagers. They follow the villagers to a nearby cave system where they find a large stash of opium. They also find Lindsey's right-hand man, who they capture and bring back with them.
As they continue to investigate, Harm begins to suspect that Lindsey may have a larger agenda than just smuggling opium. He thinks that Lindsey might be involved in a larger terrorist plot to attack a U.S. target. Meg is skeptical, but Harm is convinced and sets out to find proof.
Their investigation takes them to a nearby U.S. embassy where they discover that Lindsey has stolen a list of CIA operatives in the region. They also find out that Lindsey has been in contact with a known terrorist cell. It becomes clear to Harm that Lindsey is planning a major attack and that they need to find him before it's too late.
Harm and Meg track Lindsey to a nearby airfield where he is trying to smuggle the stolen opium out of the country. They engage in a tense firefight with Lindsey and his men, but ultimately manage to capture him. As they interrogate him, they confirm Harm's suspicions that Lindsey is planning a major attack on the U.S. They also learn of the location of the terrorist cell that Lindsey has been in contact with.
The episode ends with Harm and Meg leading a team to the terrorist cell's location to stop their attack. In a tense standoff, they manage to apprehend the terrorists and stop their plan before it can be carried out. Lindsey is brought back to the U.S. to face trial for his crimes, and Harm and Meg return home as heroes.
"Rogue" is a thrilling episode of JAG that shows off the investigative skills of Harm and Meg. It also highlights the danger that comes with investigating a rogue member of the military who is not afraid to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. The tension is high throughout the episode, and the audience will be on the edge of their seats as Harm and Meg race against the clock to stop Lindsey's plan. Overall, "Rogue" is a must-watch episode for any JAG fan.
