It's Me or the Dog season 1 episode 2, titled "The Prince of Chaos," follows renowned British dog trainer, Victoria Stilwell, as she tackles the case of a mischievous and destructive bulldog named Mowgli.
Mowgli's owners, a couple named Tyler and Adriana, are at their wits' end with their troublesome pup. Not only does Mowgli constantly chew on furniture, walls, and shoes, but he's also prone to stealing food from the kitchen counters and jumping up on guests. Despite their best efforts, Tyler and Adriana have been unable to get Mowgli's behavior under control and are considering giving him up.
Enter Victoria, who arrives at the couple's home determined to turn things around for Mowgli and his owners. She immediately identifies several key issues with Mowgli's behavior, including a lack of boundaries and routine, as well as an excess of energy and anxiety.
Over the course of the episode, viewers watch as Victoria works with Tyler and Adriana to implement a strict training regimen for Mowgli, featuring daily exercise, mental stimulation, and consistent discipline. She also gives them tips on proper feeding, sleeping, and playtime routines to help Mowgli feel more secure in his environment.
Throughout the training process, there are plenty of challenges and setbacks, as Mowgli pushes back against his new rules and boundaries. He also has a few hilarious run-ins with Victoria's own bulldog, Sadie, who serves as a helpful (if occasionally exasperated) companion during the training sessions.
Despite these obstacles, Victoria's patience and expertise eventually pay off, as Mowgli begins to show significant improvements in his behavior. He stops destroying furniture and stealing food, and learns to be more respectful of his owners and their guests.
By the end of the episode, Tyler and Adriana are thrilled with the progress Mowgli has made under Victoria's guidance, and are grateful to have their once-chaotic home back under control. And viewers are left with a newfound appreciation for the power of positive reinforcement and consistent training when it comes to even the most challenging of dogs.
