Islands On The Edge is a breathtaking documentary series that showcases the natural beauty and unique ecology of the Scottish islands. The series was produced in 2013 by ITV and features stunning footage of various island landscapes, wildlife and human communities. The show was narrated by Scottish actress Eileen McCallum and also features the musical talents of Scottish singer Julie Fowlis.

The series is split into three parts, each focusing on a different group of islands. Part one takes us to the remote and wild archipelago of St. Kilda, where the harsh Atlantic climate has shaped a unique and resilient community of humans and wildlife. We see the hard work and dedication of the St. Kildans as they maintain their traditional way of life and preserve the fragile equilibrium of their environment.

Part two of the series explores the Inner Hebrides, a cluster of islands off the west coast of Scotland that are home to a phenomenal range of flora and fauna. Here, we see how the changing seasons affect the behaviour of the island
