Mark Grayson continues to navigate life as a superhero in "Volume 1, Part 1" of Invincible season 1 episode 2. After receiving a costume upgrade from his father, Omni-Man, Mark is given a new sense of confidence and takes to patrolling the city on his own. However, he soon finds himself in over his head when he confronts a group of villains holding up a bank. Despite his best efforts, Mark is unable to take down the criminals and is saved by his father.
Meanwhile, Mark's relationship with his mother grows strained as she becomes increasingly worried about her husband's secret superhero activities. This tension is further compounded when a fellow superhero, Atom Eve, makes her debut and begins to catch Mark's eye.
As Mark struggles to balance his personal life with his duties as a hero, a new threat emerges in the form of a powerful alien race known as the Flaxans. Omni-Man and the other heroes must band together to protect the city from the invading creatures, leading to an epic battle that puts Mark's abilities to the test.
