Ep 109. Hidden in the Mist: Onward to Mt. Hakurei!

Kagome is on edge after hearing about the deaths of dozens of young girls from a nearby village. The group decides to investigate and finds that the only commonality between the girls is that they had all been heading towards Mt. Hakurei to pray. Along the way, they encounter a group of bandits who are using a strange mist to hide their actions. After defeating the bandits, the group finds a hidden cave filled with the same mist.

As they journey deeper into the cave, they happen upon a priestess named Kikyo, who is investigating the same mysterious mist. Kikyo explains that the mist is a barrier of sorts, created by Naraku to keep them from reaching the Sacred Jewel. The group decides to travel together to try and break through the barrier.

While en route, Inuyasha stops to pick some flowers for Kagome, only to be attacked by a group of demon brothers. The brothers are seeking revenge on Inuyasha for killing their father years before. Despite the odds, Inuyasha is able to defeat the brothers with the help of his friends.

Finally, the group reaches the base of Mt. Hakurei and begins their ascent. Along the way, they come across a group of monks who are trying to break through the barrier to defeat Naraku. The monks explain that there is a shard of the Sacred Jewel hidden within Mt. Hakurei, and that they need to retrieve it in order to complete their mission.

As they near the top of the mountain, they come across a giant spider demon and a group of Naraku’s minions. Inuyasha and his friends quickly realize that they must work together with the monks in order to succeed. With their combined efforts, they are able to defeat the spider demon and gain access to the shard of the Sacred Jewel.

The episode ends with the group contemplating their next move. With the shard in their possession, they are one step closer to defeating Naraku. But they know that their journey is far from over, and that there will be more challenges and battles to come.
