Inuyasha season 3 episode 57, "Fateful Night in Togenkyo, Part 1," begins with Inuyasha and his group traveling through a dense forest on their way to search for Naraku's castle. They come across a waterfall and decide to rest there for the night. However, they soon discover that they are not alone - a beautiful and mysterious young woman named Aiya appears before them.
Aiya claims to be a priestess from the nearby village of Togenkyo, and she tells Inuyasha and his friends about the legend of the village. According to the legend, Togenkyo was once a paradise, but it was destroyed by a demon that fell in love with the princess of the village. Aiya claims that the demon is still alive and living in a nearby castle, and she asks Inuyasha and his group to help her defeat him.
Inuyasha is skeptical of Aiya's story, but Kagome thinks that there might be some truth to it. They decide to accompany Aiya to the village to investigate further. When they arrive, they find that the village is indeed beautiful and prosperous - but there is a sense of secrecy and unease among the villagers.
As they explore the village, Inuyasha and his group encounter several strange occurrences. They see a shadowy figure in the distance, and they hear strange voices in the night. Kagome feels a strange energy emanating from the village's main shrine, and they investigate further. They find that the shrine has been sealed off, and there are guards posted outside to prevent anyone from entering.
Inuyasha and his friends begin to suspect that something is not right in Togenkyo, but they are still unsure of what is going on. They decide to sneak into the shrine to investigate further. Once inside, they find that the shrine is filled with ancient artifacts and relics - including a mirror that seems to have a life of its own.
As they investigate the shrine, they are attacked by a group of demons. Inuyasha and his friends fight them off, but they soon realize that they are vastly outnumbered. They realize that they must retreat and regroup before they can take on the demon that Aiya has told them about.
The episode ends with Inuyasha and his group retreating from the village, still unsure of what is going on in Togenkyo. They know that they must find out the truth about the demon and the village's past before they can defeat their enemy. The stage is set for an exciting and suspenseful storyline in the upcoming episodes of the season.
