Sesshomaru, the powerful demon lord, is on a mission to obtain a powerful sword called Tokijin which was made from the fangs of a dragon. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and his friends are trying to track down Naraku, the evil demon who has caused them so much trouble in the past. As they are making their way through the forest, they come across Sesshomaru who informs them of his intention to retrieve Tokijin.
Inuyasha is skeptical of Sesshomaru's motives and warns him not to underestimate the power of the sword. Sesshomaru, however, is undeterred and sets off to find the sword. Along the way, he comes across a demon named Gyu-oh who is guarding the sword. Gyu-oh challenges Sesshomaru to a battle, but Sesshomaru easily defeats him and takes possession of Tokijin.
As Sesshomaru wields the sword, its power becomes clear. The sword has the ability to absorb the powers of other demons, which makes it incredibly powerful. However, it also has the ability to corrupt the wielder, turning them into a demon. Sesshomaru initially believes he has the strength to control the power of the sword, but it quickly becomes clear that he is in danger of being consumed by it.
Inuyasha and his friends continue their search for Naraku. They come across a village that has been attacked by a demon. The demon is revealed to be a man named Suikotsu who has been possessed by Naraku's shard. Inuyasha and his friends try to help Suikotsu, but they soon realize that he is beyond their help. Suikotsu is torn between his two personalities - one is kind and gentle, while the other is a ruthless killer.
As Inuyasha and his friends come to terms with the tragedy of Suikotsu's situation, they are confronted by Sesshomaru who has become consumed by the power of Tokijin. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru engage in a fierce battle, with Inuyasha determined to stop Sesshomaru from being consumed by the sword's power.
The battle is intense and both brothers are pushed to their limits. In the end, Inuyasha is able to defeat Sesshomaru with the help of his friends. Sesshomaru realizes the danger of the sword and decides to get rid of it. He throws the sword into the sky, where it disintegrates into dust.
As the dust settles, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru share a brief moment of understanding. They may be brothers, but they are very different creatures. Inuyasha has chosen to embrace his human side, while Sesshomaru remains a proud demon. Despite their differences, however, they recognize that they share a common goal - to protect the people they care about.
The episode ends with Inuyasha and his friends continuing their search for Naraku, while Sesshomaru sets off on his own path. The battle may be over, but the dangers they face are far from over.
