Sarah is the sixth episode of the seventh season of Intervention. The show follows the story of Sarah, a 24-year-old woman from Florida who's addicted to Heroin and other drugs. Sarah has been using drugs since she was 16 years old and has been in and out of rehab ever since. Her family has tried to help her numerous times over the years, but Sarah always relapses and returns to her drug use.
The episode begins with interviews with Sarah's mother, Karen, and her sister, Amanda. They describe how Sarah's addiction has affected their lives and the lives of those around them. Karen talks about how she's spent thousands of dollars on Sarah's rehab and how it's affected her relationship with her daughter. Amanda discusses how Sarah's behavior has hurt their family and how she's afraid that if Sarah doesn't get help soon, she'll end up dead.
The show then introduces us to Sarah, who's living with her boyfriend, Mike, in a small apartment. Sarah talks about how she's been using heroin almost every day for the past year and a half and how it's taken over her life. She shows us her arms, which are covered in track marks from injecting the drug.
The intervention team, led by interventionist Jeff Van Vonderen, meets with Sarah's family to prepare for the intervention. They discuss Sarah's addiction and how they believe she needs to get help. The team then surprises Sarah by showing up at her apartment and asking her if she's willing to go to rehab. Sarah is initially resistant but does eventually agree to get help.
The episode then shows Sarah going through the detox process at a treatment facility. She talks about how hard it is to be sober and how she's used drugs to deal with her emotions for so long that she doesn't know how to cope without them. The staff at the facility work with Sarah to help her understand her addiction and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
Throughout the episode, we also see the impact that Sarah's addiction has had on her family. Her mother and sister visit her in rehab and talk about how hopeful they are that this time she'll be able to stay sober. They also discuss the pain that her addiction has caused them and how it's affected their relationships with each other.
The show also introduces us to other patients at the rehab facility and shows their stories. We see how they're all struggling with addiction and how they're working to overcome it. Sarah connects with some of the other patients and talks about how grateful she is to have their support.
The episode culminates in the family's visit to the treatment center for Sarah's graduation. They talk about how proud they are of her and how much she's grown since starting the program. They also discuss their hopes for her future and how they'll continue to support her in her sobriety.
Overall, Sarah is a powerful episode that highlights the struggles of addiction and the importance of getting help. It's a touching story that shows how the support of loved ones and a good treatment program can make all the difference in helping someone overcome addiction.
