Brad has always been a rebel, indulging in drugs and alcohol from a young age. But now at 27 years old, his addiction has soared to new heights. His drug of choice is crack cocaine, causing him to steal, lie, and even commit acts of violence to get his fix.
Brad's family is at their wits' end, but they see a glimmer of hope when they find out about an intervention. They contact the show, hoping that this will be the moment where Brad finally acknowledges his addiction and accepts help.
The intervention is staged at Brad's aunt's home, where he has been living on and off for years. His family, including his mother, stepfather, and sister, gather together with a professional interventionist and Brad's closest friend.
As the group reads their letters, Brad initially puts up a defensive front, arguing with his family and denying the severity of his addiction. But as the interventionist begins to ask questions and confront Brad with the reality of his situation, he starts to break down in tears.
The turning point comes when Brad's friend reveals a shocking secret - Brad's drug dealer has raped him several times. Brad is horrified that his addiction has led to such a traumatic event and immediately agrees to go to rehab.
The family is relieved but also skeptical. Brad has been to rehab before, and they know that there's no guarantee that he will stay clean. They visit him in treatment, where Brad is a shell of his former self as he detoxes. But over time, he starts to open up and work through the underlying issues that led to his addiction.
The last part of the episode shows the family and Brad's friends visiting him in rehab and offering their support. Brad talks about how much he's learned and how grateful he is for the intervention. He's committed to staying clean and rebuilding his life, but it's clear that there's a long road ahead.
