Luke and Shantel's story is detailed in season 10, episode 7 of the TV show Intervention. Luke is a 40-year-old man who started using drugs at the age of 13. He began drinking alcohol when he was 15, and at 17, he started using crack cocaine. Due to his addiction, he has been to prison several times and has been homeless at times. He has lost his wife and children to his addiction, and his family has given up on him.
Shantel, on the other hand, is a 30-year-old woman who started using drugs when she was 16. She began with marijuana and then turned to cocaine. She got pregnant at a young age and became a mother to two children but continued to use drugs. Her children were taken from her by Child Protective Services, and she has been in and out of rehab several times.
The episode starts with Luke being interviewed by the Intervention team. He talks about his addiction, how it has affected his life and his desire to get sober. He also shares about his children, and it is clear that they mean the world to him. The scene then shifts to Shantel, who is also interviewed. She talks about her addiction, how it started, and how it has affected her life. She expresses her desire to be a better mother to her children and to get sober.
The Intervention team then meets with Luke and Shantel's family members separately. Luke's family members talk about how his addiction has affected them over the years. They talk about how they have tried to help him but have failed, and they express their love and concern for him. Shantel's mother and sister also talk about their concern for Shantel and their love for her. They express their desire for her to get sober and be a better mother to her children.
The Intervention team then meets with Luke and Shantel separately. They each talk about their addiction, how it has affected their lives, and their desire to get sober. They are both given an ultimatum: go to rehab or lose their families forever. Both Luke and Shantel choose to go to rehab.
The next scene shows Luke and Shantel arriving at the rehab center. They each have their own room, and the rehab staff explains the program to them. They both express their nervousness about the program, but also their excitement about the possibility of getting sober. The episode then shows their time in rehab, including group therapy sessions, one-on-one counseling, and different activities designed to help them cope with their addiction.
The episode ends with a follow-up on Luke and Shantel. It is revealed that Luke successfully completed the rehab program and has been clean for six months. He has also reconciled with his family, including his children. Shantel, however, left the rehab program after two weeks. She was unable to cope with her addiction and felt overwhelmed by the program. She is still struggling with her addiction but is open to going to rehab again in the future.
Overall, the episode is an emotional journey through the lives of two individuals struggling with addiction. It highlights the impact addiction has on families and how important it is for individuals to seek help. It also shows that recovery is not easy but is possible with the right support and determination.
