Intelligence from CBS is a high-stakes action thriller that follows the adventures of Gabriel Vaughn, a high-tech intelligence operative, brilliantly played by Josh Holloway. He is the right-hand man of Lillian Strand (Marg Helgenberger), the head of the fictional United States Cyber Command agency.

Gabriel has a microchip implanted in his brain that allows him to access and control any computer system around him. This implant enables him to process data at unparalleled speeds, analyze situations instinctively, and predict potential breaches in national security. As a result, Gabriel becomes a one-man army, a formidable warrior who can take on enemies with deadly precision.

The show focuses on Gabriel's attempts to protect the United States from cyber-attacks, espionage, and terrorism. His missions take him to various locations around the world, from China to Russia, as well as to the dark corners of cyberspace. Along with his colleagues, including stalwarts such as the medical expert Dr. Shenendoah Cassidy (John Billingsley) and fellow agent, Riley Neal (Meghan Ory), Gabriel goes on dangerous assignments, battles terrorists, and prevents disasters that could cripple the country.

The show doesn't shy away from the personal lives of the main characters either. There are romantic relationships that develop, past secrets that come to light, and familial obligations that threaten to derail the operations. Gabriel, for instance, has a complicated backstory that involves his ex-wife, Amelia (Kathryn Morris), and their daughter, Hayley (P.J. Byrne). Lillian has her own demons to deal with, including a son who's serving time in a prison.

One of the essential aspects of Intelligence is the camaraderie between the agents. They function like a well-oiled machine, exchanging quips, and offering support to each other when situations get tough. They are also not infallible, with each facing their own set of vulnerabilities and foibles. Despite the frenzied pace of the show, the characters are given enough time to develop, allowing the audience to become invested in their lives and their struggles.

The show is replete with thrilling action sequences, which always leave the audience on the edge of their seats. Every episode has at least one set-piece, featuring gunfire, explosions, car chases, and martial arts battles. The production values are top-notch, with the makers going all-out in creating an immersive and believable world. Whether it's showcasing the neon-lit streets of Tokyo or the austere interiors of Cyber Command, Intelligence leaves no stone unturned in creating a visceral experience for its viewers.

The cast of Intelligence is one of its biggest strengths. Josh Holloway, fresh from his successful stint as Sawyer in Lost, brings a calm intensity to his role. He's equally adept at handling dialogue-heavy scenes as he is with action scenes, effortlessly switching between the two. Marg Helgenberger, best known for her role in CSI, is perfect as the stern Lillian Strand. Her chemistry with Holloway is one of the highlights of the show. Meghan Ory, who plays Riley Neal, is another standout. Strong, intelligent, and capable, she's more than just a damsel in distress. John Billingsley, who plays the quirky Dr. Cassidy, is a scene-stealer, offering comic relief when needed.

The show doesn't shy away from exploring ethical questions around the use of technology either. Gabriel's implant, while powerful, is also a bonafide privacy concern. There are constant debates about the safety and integrity of the chip, as well as the moral implications of using it. The show also examines the impact of technology on relationships, with Gabriel's ex-wife and daughter struggling to come to terms with his powers.

Overall, Intelligence is a thoroughly entertaining show that will appeal to fans of action, espionage, and science fiction. It's fast-paced, smart, and well-crafted, with excellent performances from its cast. While it has its share of flaws, the show succeeds in providing viewers with an engaging and exciting experience.
