Instant Hotel is an Australian reality television series on Netflix that follows homeowners who are competing with each other to turn their homes into the best vacation spots. The show is hosted by Australian comedian, Luke Jacobz.

In season 1 episode 2, four new couples arrive at the next Instant Hotel location in Victoria at The Treehouse. The Treehouse is a luxury three-bedroom home that sits amidst the treetops and promises stunning views of the forest below.

The first couple to arrive is 61-year-old couple Lynne and Simon. They are both retired and have spent a lot of time renovating their property in Sydney, hoping it will transform their investment into an Instant Hotel dream. Lynne has every possible amenity they could think of installed and they believe their property is perfect for couples.

The second couple to arrive is 35-year-old sisters Bec and Tristan from Adelaide. Bec and Tristan come across as quite competitive, and they have brought their own themes in the form of "The Golden Girls" and "The Mountain of Love." They're both self-employed, and Bec is quite particular about cleanliness, while Tristan likes things to be a little more relaxed.

Third to arrive are gay couple Brent and Leroy, from New South Wales. Brent and Leroy have a keen eye for design and a particular fondness for metallic tones. They're hoping their eye for luxury will set them apart in the competition.

The final couple to arrive is married couple Bondi and Bec. They're from Tasmania and are aiming to bring some much-needed wilderness to the competition with a glamping-inspired theme. He's a carpenter, and she's a makeup artist, and they have four children between them.

The contestants are put into pairs to score each other's properties. Lynne and Simon are paired with Bec and Tristan, Brent and Leroy become the judges for Bondi and Bec, and the latter two get to pass judgment on the former two aforementioned contestants.

The teams critique each other's properties in a number of categories, including location, quality of sleep, amenities, entertainment, and value for money. They also have to sign a guest book in which they leave comments about their stay and give their overall impression of each property.

It soon becomes clear that the contestants have somewhat differing opinions. Bec and Tristan are the most critical of the bunch and think everyone else's properties are lacking, while Lynne and Simon are much more laidback and friendly. Brent and Leroy are caught in the middle, and Bondi and Bec are slightly overwhelmed by the whole experience.

The episode culminates in the reveal of the scores, and the couples are then told which team of judges scored their property best. The teams with the highest scores will go through to the final, while the lowest-scoring pair will be eliminated.

In season 1 episode 2 of Instant Hotel, the competition gets tougher, with the contestants having to impress each other in order to progress to the finale. The Treehouse location is a stunning backdrop for this episode, and the different competing couples bring their own unique personalities, causing tension and excitement. With every episode, the stakes get higher, and the competition to be crowned Australia's best Instant Hotel continues to heat up.
