Ep 1. Gadget's Replacement

Inspector Gadget's loyal sidekick, Brain the dog, receives orders from Chief Quimby to steal a microchip from Dr. Claw's headquarters. The plan goes awry, and Brain is captured by Dr. Claw's minions. In order to save Brain, Inspector Gadget reluctantly agrees to have himself be replaced by a more advanced and seemingly infallible robot inspector named G2. As G2 quickly gains the trust of the chief and the other officers, Gadget begins to feel like he's been pushed aside and is no longer useful to the force. To make matters worse, Penny and Brain have to pretend to be kidnapped in order to keep up the ruse that the inspector is still on the case. Gadget eventually discovers the truth and sets out to prove that he's still a valuable member of the team, even if he's not a perfect machine. But when Dr. Claw and his minions escape from prison and launch a surprise attack on the city, Inspector Gadget and G2 both have to put their differences aside and work together to save the day.
