Ink Master Season 6 episode 4, Tut for Tat, begins with a Flash Challenge in which the contestants are required to create a tattoo design using hieroglyphics as their inspiration. The challenge is judged by guest judge Nikko Hurtado, a renowned tattoo artist and co-owner of Black Anchor Collective in Hesperia, California.
The artists put their drawing skills to the test as they create designs that incorporate Egyptian symbols and themes. The contestants face difficulty as not all of them are well acquainted with Egyptian mythology. The toughest part of the challenge is to recreate the design using the 3D printer, testing the artists’ abilities to create a tattoo stencil. The judges will be assessing the designs for creativity, overall design, and technical execution.
Once the challenge is complete, the artists quickly move onto the elimination round where they will create tattoos on their canvases based on the Egyptian mythology theme. This Challenge will be judged by the host and expert judges, Dave Navarro, Oliver Peck, and Chris Núñez.
As the contestants start tattooing, it becomes apparent that some artists lose their confidence while others overthink their designs, trying hard to perfect it. This leads to some unwanted drama and conflict between contestants when one member shows disinterest in helping his fellow contestant.
The tattoos created are themed in Egyptian mythology, and the canvases ask for a variety of different designs, which involves a complex mix of techniques and styles. The final outcome of the tattoos created by the artists will be evaluated based on the interpretation of the theme, technique, and overall quality of the tattoo. The canvas also has the right to give feedback to the judges about their experience and the artists working for them.
In the end, the judges must choose who they think has performed the best and the most deserving artist to continue their journey on Ink Master whereas, one artist will have to go home.
