Takumi Fujiwara is just an average high school student who spends his days delivering tofu for his father's business. However, he possesses an extraordinary talent for driving, something he discovers after defeating a group of street racers on Mount Akina. In the second episode of the first season of Initial D, entitled "Act. 2 Declaration of Revenge," Takumi is forced to come face to face with his new-found fame, and he must decide whether to embrace it or reject it.
The episode begins with Takumi being invited to race against the Red Suns, a notorious street racing group. Although he initially rejects their offer, Takumi appears to have changed his mind after observing the group's reckless driving on Mount Akina. However, he is hesitant to accept the challenge, knowing that it could put his father's business at risk. Nevertheless, his best friend Itsuki encourages him to take on the Red Suns, hoping that it will make him famous and attract the attention of the girls at their school.
As the race approaches, Takumi becomes increasingly nervous, plagued by doubts about his abilities. He worries that he will embarrass himself in front of the Red Suns, and that his lack of racing experience will be exposed. However, his father offers him some sage advice, telling him that he needs to trust in his own skills and not worry about what others think of him.
The day of the race arrives, and Takumi finds himself pitted against his nemesis, Keisuke Takahashi of the Red Suns. Despite his initial nervousness, Takumi quickly settles into his groove, impressing both his opponent and the crowds with his skillful driving. Keisuke is shocked to find that Takumi seems to have an innate understanding of the road, and that he can predict the twists and turns with uncanny accuracy.
As the race progresses, Takumi's confidence begins to grow, and he starts to take risks that he would never have attempted before. He pushes his car to the limit, swerving through hairpin turns and accelerating down steep inclines. The audience is gripped by the excitement of the race, and they can sense that something special is happening.
In the end, Takumi emerges victorious, having managed to outsmart Keisuke at every turn. The Red Suns are stunned by his performance, and they vow to seek revenge on him in the future. Takumi, however, is less concerned with their threats, feeling that he has proven his worth as a driver.
