Mary Shannon, the U.S. Marshall assigned to the federal witness protection program, is busy dealing with her own newborn child and several personal life issues. However, duty calls her to help a bank robbery witness named Marcus Leeds, who is avoiding testifying against his accomplices. This puts him in grave danger, and Mary's task is to make sure that the man stays safe until the trial.

To ensure Leeds' safety, Mary decides to move him to a remote location and hide him from those that are after him. She along with her team takes all necessary precautions to prevent any harm to the witness. Meanwhile, Mary's personal life is in turmoil as well. Her mother Jinx is engaged, and her sister Brandi has a run-in with the law that puts her in jail.
