In this episode, Mary and her partner, Marshall Mann, are tasked with protecting their latest witness, who's an art thief named Fabian.
Fabian is in the witness protection program because he has agreed to testify against his own family in a trial that could send them all to prison. However, things quickly get complicated when it becomes apparent that Fabian's family is actively trying to find and kill him, making it difficult for Mary and Marshall to keep him safe.
While protecting Fabian, Mary and Marshall also have to deal with issues from their own personal lives. Mary is struggling with being a single mother and trying to raise her young daughter, Jinx. Meanwhile, Marshall is dealing with his own relationship problems with his girlfriend Abigail, who wants to get married but he's not ready to commit.
