Ep 2. State of Mind

Henrietta Cole is confused as to why Henry's boyfriend is sleeping on her couch. She speaks up about her disapproval but the young man takes it with a grain of salt. Henry then comes up to introduce Lucas to her mom, Cleo, but she's distracted with her work. She explains that she's working on a dating app to help people find true love. Henry jokes that Cleo should use it herself, but a phone call interrupts their conversation before Cleo can respond.

Henry is then seen meeting Bill, who is drinking his coffee on the curb. They discuss Lucas staying with Henrietta and he says that Bill intimidates him. Bill also tells Henry that they need to avoid getting in trouble and that they owe it to Henrietta to keep things low key for her sake.

At school, Jenna confronts Henry about her boyfriend publicly humiliating her at the party. Henry tells her that while she doesn't have a conscious memory of it happening, she must have had an intense emotional reaction to it. Jenna then reveals that she saw a photo of Henry at the party kissing someone else in a closet. Jenna assumes that Henry and Lucas broke up and that Henry hooked up with the random person in the closet.

Henry denies everything, and Jenna eventually backs down. Henry gets flustered and stumbles off to class.

While walking through the hallway, Henry experiences another one of her seizures and finds herself chasing after a boy who is bullying a girl. She punches him and the boy is sent flying back, hitting his head on a table. The girl runs away and Henry ends up passing out. She wakes up in the nurse's office, terrified and unaware of what just happened.

Henry falls asleep and is visited by a girl named Dominique who tells her that she too has the same powers as her. Dominique explains to Henry that every time they have a seizure, they're sent to another reality.

Henry is suspicious of Dominique and dismisses her claims. Dominique tells her that she should take a picture of the boy in the closet that Jenna saw a picture of. Henry screens Dominique out and is skeptical of her advice.

Henry leaves the nurse's office and goes back to class. Gabe is waiting for her in the hallway, and they both walk together. He wants to apologize for Erin's behavior at the party, but Henry tells him that he doesn't have to apologize for anything. She then tells him about her powers and he reveals that he has them too. They trade stories of their seizures and come to the conclusion that they need to figure out why they have these powers.

At home, Henry goes into her room and sees Lucas looking out the window. He tells her that he's become used to people looking at him with malice in their eyes. Lucas then relates to the fact that he's not accepted because of who he is. He then asks Henry if she's really in love with him, but she's unable to answer.

She takes a picture of the mysterious boy in the closet and sends it to Jenna, who's angry about it. Jenna tells her that he's a guy named Townes, who's really weird and doesn't talk to anyone. Henry becomes intrigued by him and decides that she needs to find out more about him.

Later on, Henry goes to a party where she sees Jenna and her friends. She quickly dismisses them and goes off to find Townes. Henry stumbles into a room where they're growing pot. Townes and another boy reprimand her for interrupting. She becomes angry and picks up a hammer and smashes the pot. He recognizes her from the picture Jenna showed him but it seems he got into some trouble because of her. Townes leaves, and a group of men come in accusing Henry. She hides it out in one of their cars and later learns that they're drug dealers.

Henry gets up and sees men going after Townes, she quickly calls Bill …
