Hakufu, however, is determined to fight and prove that she's the strongest. She runs off to school, where she meets up with Ryofu Housen, another fighter from another school who is interested in fighting Hakufu. Ryofu challenges her to a fight, but Hakufu initially refuses, saying that she doesn't want to fight anyone unless they're in the tournament.

Later, Hakufu is approached by Chouun Shiryuu, the fighter for another school. Chouun wants to team up with Hakufu and fight together in the tournament. Hakufu agrees, and they head off to Nanyou Academy to meet Kanu.
When they arrive at Nanyou, they are met with hostility from Kanu, who is determined to defeat Hakufu. She challenges her to a fight, and Hakufu accepts. The two engage in an intense battle, with Kanu easily overpowering Hakufu. However, Hakufu refuses to give up, and she manages to land a few blows on Kanu.
As the fight continues, it becomes clear that Kanu is holding back, and she eventually stops fighting altogether, saying that she cannot bring herself to fight Hakufu. The episode ends with Kanu walking away, leaving Hakufu and the others confused.
