Kelly finds herself in a precarious situation in season 3 episode 13 of If Loving You is Wrong. Tensions have been simmering between her and her ex-husband Travis, who has been demanding custody of their son Justice. Kelly has been standing her ground and refusing to give in to Travis' demands, but things come to a head when she is accused of child abuse.

As the episode opens, Kelly is being questioned by detective Eddie Paredez about bruises found on Justice's body. Kelly denies any wrongdoing, but the evidence is stacking up against her. Meanwhile, Travis and his new girlfriend Alex are cheering on the investigation from the sidelines.

Kelly's best friends Marcie and Natalie are also caught up in the drama, as they try to support Kelly while dealing with their own issues. Marcie is struggling to cope with her miscarriage and the possibility that her husband Brad's affair with Alex may have resulted in a child. Natalie, meanwhile, is trying to move on from her ex-husband Lushion and start a new life with her boyfriend Joey.

As the investigation continues, Kelly's friends rally around her and help her prepare for a custody hearing. But tensions are high and loyalties are tested as the truth comes to light about who is really responsible for Justice's injuries.

Amidst all the drama and uncertainty, Hanging in the Balance explores themes of trust, betrayal, and the lengths that people will go to in order to protect the ones they love. It's a tense, emotional episode that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats as they wait to see what happens next.
