In season 2, episode 5 of "Ice Pilots", titled "The River Lift", we follow the Buffalo Airways crew as they take on one of their most challenging jobs yet. The episode opens up with an intense scene of Buffalo Airways being called to rescue a stranded trapper on a far-off river. The only way to reach him is through air, and Buffalo Airways is the only one with the equipment and skills necessary for the job.

As the crew gets ready, we see an introduction to an innovative new mechanic on the team named Joe McBryan. He has a fearless attitude and the ability to improvise and work on any engine that comes his way. The team's leader, Joe's son Mikey, knows that Joe is the key to getting the job done smoothly and efficiently.

The team takes off with two planes, one a Grumman Goose and the other a C-46 Commando, both crucial planes in Buffalo Airways' fleet. The team has to navigate through tricky weather conditions, including high winds and low visibility, as they head towards the trapped trapper.

Once they arrive at the river, the team is faced with the daunting task of trying to land on a narrow stretch of water. The first attempt is unsuccessful, as high winds cause the C-46 to be blown off course. But Joe jumps into action and comes up with a backup plan using a truck that he modifies to become an impromptu winch.

With Joe's improvisation skills and the rest of the team working together seamlessly, they successfully land the plane and airlift the trapper out and to safety. It's a testament to Buffalo Airways' teamwork and willingness to go above and beyond to help those in need.

As the team returns to the base, there's little time for celebration, as the next job is right around the corner. The team is tasked with moving a massive piece of machinery, known as a drilling rig, to a remote location in the middle of the tundra. This job will prove to be even more challenging than the last, as the rig is too large to fit into any of Buffalo Airways' planes.

The team comes up with an innovative solution to use multiple planes and helicopters to transport the rig piece by piece. They also improvise a unique system of strapping the rig to the planes and helicopters, so it doesn't get damaged during transportation.

As the team works tirelessly to get the rig to its destination, tensions rise between the pilots due to the stressful conditions and long hours. But Joe McBryan, the new mechanic, steps in to help keep everyone focused on the task at hand. Joe's calm and collected demeanor helps ease the tension between the pilots and ensures that everyone works together in harmony.

Finally, after days of hard work, the team successfully delivers the rig to its destination. It's a remarkable feat of teamwork and innovation, and once again, Buffalo Airways proves why they're one of the best in the business.

Overall, "The River Lift" episode of "Ice Pilots" is a heart-pumping ride, showcasing the incredible work ethic, innovative spirit, and unbreakable teamwork of the Buffalo Airways crew. This episode is a testament to the human spirit's ability to overcome adversity and the power of working together towards a common goal.
