Carly and her friends head back to Webicon, an annual web conference that they used to attend religiously before they became so successful with iCarly. However, this time around, they do so with a different purpose: Carly wants to get over her ex-boyfriend Griffin, whom she had a brief fling with before he cheated on her with her arch-nemesis, Amber Tate.
Nevertheless, things take an unexpected turn when they cross paths with Nevel Papperman, the infamous and conniving kid who has long been a thorn in their side. They soon discover that he has created an app called “Nevelocity”, which is a rip-off of iCarly, and he is even presenting it at Webicon. Fearing that he will discourage people from watching their show, Carly and her crew devise a plan to get even with him.
Meanwhile, Spencer meets an old friend, a former child star named Jack Black (played by himself). Jack, who was once in a popular sitcom called “The Deadbeat Club,” had a fall from grace and is now in the midst of a comeback. He asks Spencer to help him by promoting his new movie, which Spencer gladly agrees to do. However, this turns out to be easier said than done, as the movie, entitled “Gibby,” is a strange and bizarre film that no one seems to understand or appreciate.
As Carly and the gang work to sabotage Nevel’s presentation, they also try to find a way to promote the Gibby movie. In the process, they get into some sticky situations, including one where Carly dresses as a giant smartphone in order to drum up some attention. They also enlist the help of several other web celebs, such as Shane Dawson, Miranda Cosgrove, and Victoria Justice, who all make cameo appearances.
In the end, Carly and her friends manage to come out on top, both by getting revenge on Nevel and promoting the Gibby movie. However, their victory is not without its consequences, as Nevel promises to get even with them, and Spencer is left feeling disillusioned and disappointed by Jack Black’s movie. Nevertheless, the episode ends on a high note, as the gang celebrate their success and reflect on how far they’ve come since their Webicon days.
Overall, “iReturn to Webicon” is a fun and exciting episode that showcases the best of what iCarly has to offer. It has all the trademarks of a classic iCarly episode, including witty banter, outrageous stunts, and a strong message about the importance of friendship and perseverance. Fans of the show will undoubtedly enjoy watching Carly and her friends as they take on Nevel and promote the wacky and wonderful Gibby movie.
