Ep 5. Angel / Elyse / Richard

Surviving a life-threatening situation is something most people never experience, but it's a reality for the people featured on "I Survived." Angel's story starts when he and his girlfriend, Candi, went on vacation in Mexico. After a night out at a club, they ended up getting into a car with three strangers. The strangers drove them to a remote location and robbed them. The strangers then proceeded to torture Angel and Candi with a blowtorch. Angel was severely burned and lost all the skin on his arms and legs. He thought he was going to die, but somehow he managed to survive the ordeal.

Elyse's story starts when she was only 17 years old. She was hiking with friends in the mountains, and they came across a man who seemed friendly at first. The man led them to a remote location where he then attacked them. He killed Elyse's friend and then abducted Elyse. He held her captive for several days, repeatedly raping and torturing her. Elyse was eventually able to escape when her captor left her alone for a short time. The experience left her traumatized, but she managed to survive and overcome the trauma.

Richard's story starts when he was working as a firefighter in a small town. He was driving a truck with a colleague when a tornado touched down near their location. The tornado was so powerful that it lifted their truck off the ground and threw it several hundred feet. Richard was knocked unconscious and suffered from broken bones and severe internal injuries. His colleague was killed instantly. Richard was trapped in the wreckage for several hours before rescuers could reach him. He was in critical condition, and doctors weren't sure if he would survive. But he managed to pull through, in part thanks to the support of the community and his fellow firefighters.

Overall, this episode of "I Survived" is an intense look at the resilience of the human spirit. Each of the survivors featured had to overcome incredible odds to survive their respective ordeals. The show is a tribute to their strength and resilience, and a reminder that no matter what life throws our way, we can always find a way to keep going.
