Sarah and Sherman were on a peaceful camping trip in Arizona when they were unexpectedly confronted by a pack of wolves. Sarah remembers being dragged by one of the wolves and the fear and pain she felt in those moments. Despite the attack, she manages to fight back until help arrives. Sherman recalls the overwhelming feeling of helplessness at not being able to protect Sarah and the horror of seeing her being dragged away. Together, they retrace their steps and explain the moments of the attack from their perspectives.
In the second story, Dee Ann and Ellen were hiking in North Carolina when they got lost in the park. They had minimal supplies and no cell phone reception. Ellen describes the panic and fear she felt when they realized they were lost. Dee Ann recounts how they tried to find their way back but ended up going deeper into the park. They eventually survived by drinking water from a creek, eating berries, and building a shelter that saved them from a cold and rainy night. They wandered for four days before they stumbled upon a search and rescue team.
Both stories showcase the power of the human spirit under extreme circumstances.
