Ep 6. Cynthia, Russ, & Carol / Ron & Christine

In season 9 episode 6 of I Survived, viewers follow the incredible stories of two different double tragedies.

The first story revolves around Cynthia, Russ, and Carol. They were three friends on a relaxing weekend getaway when their raft overturned in the middle of a strong and treacherous river. They were stranded, fighting the swift currents and battling the elements in hopes of survival. What followed was a grueling three-day struggle to stay alive in a desolate and unforgiving wilderness. Through incredible feats of endurance and perseverance, all three were eventually found and rescued, but would never forget the harrowing experience that left them forever changed.

The second story follows Ron and Christine, a married couple whose idyllic vacation took a terrifying turn when they were met with a series of unfortunate and life-threatening events. While on a romantic walk, they were ambushed and attacked by a group of armed bandits. Ron was shot and left for dead, while Christine was kidnapped and held hostage. For days, she was subjected to unimaginable torture and terror at the hands of her captors. Meanwhile, Ron fought for his life and eventually found help, leading to a dramatic rescue mission to save his beloved wife. Despite the physical and emotional scars they carry, both Ron and Christine refused to let their attackers win, and emerged stronger than ever before.

Throughout these two stories, audiences witness the incredible strength of the human spirit in the face of unthinkable adversity. From battling raging rapids to surviving violent crimes, these survivors demonstrate that resilience and determination are truly what it takes to survive.
