The show I Survived... brings us season 9 whose episode 15 is called "A.J., Carolyn & Stacy / Lynne". The show features real-life stories of people who have survived life-threatening situations against all odds. The show highlights the struggles and emotions that come along with the circumstances, as narrated by the survivors themselves.
In this episode, we hear two stories of survival. The first is that of A.J., Carolyn, and Stacy. They were on a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico when their boat capsized, and they were left stranded in the ocean for days. The three of them had to fight against the elements, exhaustion, and hunger. They took turns hanging onto a cooler to stay afloat and used a whistle to get the attention of passing boats. However, as the days went by, their strength started to fade, and they began to lose hope. Finally, after five days and four nights, they were rescued by the Coast Guard.
The second story is that of Lynne, who was abducted by a serial killer when she was a teenager. She was held captive for days, tortured, and raped. However, Lynne refused to give up hope. She began to talk to her captor and started to form a relationship with him. She used his vulnerabilities to gain his trust, and when he finally let his guard down, she was able to escape. Lynne's determination and quick thinking saved her life and helped bring her abductor to justice.
