Park Soo-ha, a high school senior, witnessed his father's murder at a young age and has been living with the injustice since then. He resorted to using his special ability that enables him to read people's minds to help him find the killer. After years of searching, he finally caught the murderer and testified against him in court. However, Soo-ha's testimony was disregarded, and the criminal was set free.
Fast forward to the present, Soo-ha, now a law student, has been living a peaceful life until he comes across Jang Hye-sung, a public defender who participated in his father's case in the past. Their paths crossed when Hye-sung was running late for court and Soo-ha used his exceptional hearing ability to help her catch the accused. Hye-sung was initially skeptical of Soo-ha's claim, but she eventually hires him as her assistant in hopes of not repeating her past mistakes.
In this episode, we are introduced to Jang Hye-sung, who is trying to prove the innocence of a man accused of attempted murder. She is sharp-tongued, cynical, and has a difficult personality, but she genuinely cares for the people she is defending. As she starts working on the case, she encounters Soo-ha, who manages to read the plaintiff's mind and provide crucial evidence, exonerating her client.

The first episode sets up a solid foundation for the show, introducing the characters, their backstories, and establishing their relationship.
