Ep 6. Jeannie, the Hip Hippie

Jeannie, the Hip Hippie is the sixth episode of the third season of the classic television show I Dream of Jeannie. The episode revolves around the main characters, astronaut Tony Nelson and his genie love interest Jeannie, getting caught up in the cultural revolution of the late 1960s.

The episode begins with Tony and Jeannie lounging around Tony's living room, watching television and trying to find something to do. Tony, ever the straight-laced military man, seems a bit bored with their usual activities, so Jeannie decides to spice things up by conjuring up some 1960s-style clothing for them to wear. Tony is hesitant at first, but eventually relents and tries on a pair of bellbottoms and a colorful shirt.

The two of them then head out into the world, with Tony hoping to show Jeannie some of the more "respectable" sights in town. However, they quickly find themselves in the midst of a protest march and get caught up in the energy of the crowd. Tony is hesitant at first, worried about getting in trouble with the military, but Jeannie encourages him to let go and enjoy himself.

Eventually, Tony and Jeannie make their way to a local coffeehouse where they meet a group of hippies. Tony is at first suspicious of them, but Jeannie is fascinated and quickly fits in with the group. Tony is left feeling like the odd one out and decides to leave the coffeehouse, but not before Jeannie asks him to return later that night for a special performance.

Tony heads back to his apartment, feeling partly amused and partly annoyed with the whole situation. He tries to relax by reading a book, but is unable to concentrate with all the noise coming from the coffeehouse outside. Eventually, he decides to head back and see what all the fuss is about.

When Tony arrives at the coffeehouse, he finds that Jeannie and her hippie friends have put on a musical performance. At first, Tony is hesitant to get involved, but before he knows it, he's singing and dancing along with the rest of them. He even finds himself enjoying the music and the energy of the crowd.

However, their peaceful gathering is soon interrupted by the police, who arrive to break up the party. Tony and Jeannie are separated in the chaos, but eventually reunite back at his apartment. They reflect on their experience and Tony admits that he actually had a good time.

The episode ends with Jeannie conjuring up a hippie-style outfit for Tony to wear, signaling that maybe he's not such a straight-laced military man after all.
