On April 15, 2013, two bombs exploded at the Boston Marathon finish line, killing three people and injuring hundreds more. In the aftermath of the attack, law enforcement embarked on a dramatic manhunt for the two suspects: brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

In this episode of How It Really Happened, we continue the story of the Boston Marathon bombing, picking up where we left off in part one of the manhunt. With the city on lockdown, authorities worked tirelessly to find the Tsarnaevs before they could cause any more harm.

As the search intensified, the brothers made their way to Watertown, where they got into a shootout with police officers. Tamerlan was killed in the altercation, but Dzhokhar managed to escape.

What followed was a tense and chaotic search for the remaining suspect. The city remained under lockdown as thousands of law enforcement officers combed the streets of Watertown, searching for any sign of Dzhokhar.

Finally, after nearly 24 hours on the run, Dzhokhar was found hiding in a boat in a backyard in Watertown. He was taken into custody and transported to a hospital, where he was treated for injuries sustained during his capture.

The episode explores the events leading up to the manhunt, as well as the bravery and perseverance of law enforcement officers who worked tirelessly to bring the suspects to justice. We hear from witnesses, survivors, and law enforcement officers who were on the front lines of the search for the Tsarnaevs.

As the trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev got underway, the city of Boston continued to grapple with the emotional aftermath of the bombing. The episode also examines the impact that the bombing had on the city, and how it has come together in the years since to heal and move forward.

With interviews, archival footage, and expert analysis, Boston Marathon: The Manhunt (Part 2) provides a comprehensive look at the events surrounding one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in recent American history, and how law enforcement worked tirelessly to bring justice to the victims and their families.
