Ep 14. Control

In House season 1 episode 14, titled "Control," we find the medical team at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital dealing with a particularly challenging case. A young woman named Della (played by guest star Robin Tunney) is admitted to the hospital with a mysterious illness that has stumped her doctors for months. Despite her symptoms and numerous tests, no one has been able to figure out what's wrong with her.

Dr. House (played by Hugh Laurie) takes an interest in Della's case and quickly becomes convinced that her illness is psychosomatic in nature. He believes that her symptoms are caused by her own subconscious mind and that she is therefore in control of her own cure. In the end, it's up to Della to decide whether or not to take control of her illness and fight for her own cure.

"Control" is a fascinating episode of House that explores the power of the mind over the body and the importance of taking control of one's own health. It's a complex, emotionally charged story that showcases some of the best acting and writing in the series. With strong performances from the entire cast and a compelling script that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, this episode is one of the highlights of House's first season.
