In House of Five Leaves season 1 episode 5 titled "It'll Be Fine," Masanosuke meets his sister Okinu who is looking for their younger brother, Seinosuke. Okinu believes that Seinosuke may have been kidnapped by thieves. As Masanosuke empathizes with Okinu's concern, Yaichi who overhears them suggests that he would use his connections to track Seinosuke down.
Yaichi recruits Umezou and Matsu to help him with their new mission, and they soon find out that Seinosuke has been taken in by a loan shark named Kawazu who will not release him back to the family until the loan is repaid with interest. Yaichi does not believe in treating children poorly and he decides to investigate Kawazu himself.
In the meantime, Yaichi's former gang member Yagi meets him at a bar and requests the return of their stolen goods, or money in exchange. Yaichi avoids a fight and later decides to return the goods to Yagi, changing his plans. He tells Matsu and Umezou about his change of heart and asks them to return Seinosuke to his family, telling them that he has unfinished business to settle.
Meanwhile, Masanosuke is feeling guilty about his past and believes that he is not fit to be a samurai. He confides in Yagi who gives him valuable advice, and Masanosuke is able to overcome his self-doubt.
Yaichi meets Kawazu and stages a fake transaction for the repayment of Seinosuke's "debt." However, Yaichi's real intention is to confront Kawazu about his unethical behavior and to ensure that Seinosuke is released unharmed. Kawazu agrees and Yaichi is able to bring Seinosuke home to his family.
The episode ends with Yaichi reflecting on his decisions, realizing that he cannot change the past but can decide to do the right thing in the present. He also acknowledges that his decisions have consequences, and he must live with them. The episode beautifully highlights Yaichi's complex character and his inner conflicts that drive the show's narrative forward, making it a compelling watch.
