Ep 1. Tackling a Home Search
- January 1, 2018
House Hunters is a perennial favorite among viewers, and season 2018 is no exception. In the first episode of the season, titled "Tackling a Home Search", we follow three couples as they embark on the journey of finding their dream home. Whether they are moving to a new city, upgrading to a larger space, or downsizing for retirement, each couple has unique needs and wants in a home.
The first couple we meet are Jessica and Michael, who are relocating from the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest. They are excited to experience the outdoor lifestyle that the region has to offer, and are specifically looking for a home with a large backyard and plenty of natural light. They are also looking for a home with a modern feel, but are open to some traditional touches as well. With the help of their real estate agent, they tour several homes in various neighborhoods, weighing the pros and cons of each one. As they narrow down their options, they face the tough decision of choosing between a home that has a shorter commute but needs some renovation, or a move-in ready home that's further from the city.
Next up are Kari and Scott, a couple who have lived in their home for over 20 years but are now ready for a change. They are looking to downsize to a smaller home with fewer maintenance responsibilities, but still want plenty of space for hosting their adult children and grandchildren. They tour several homes with their real estate agent, and struggle to find a home that meets all of their needs. Some of the homes they see are too small, while others are too expensive or require too much work. As they continue their search, they realize that compromising on some of their must-haves may be necessary in order to find a home that's perfect for them.
The last couple we meet in this episode are Sara and John, who are expanding their family and need a larger home. They want plenty of room for their growing family and also need an office space for their work-from-home jobs. They are looking for a modern, spacious home with plenty of great features, such as a gourmet kitchen and a large backyard. As they tour different homes with their real estate agent, they are impressed by some but disappointed by others. They also struggle to come to a decision on the style of home they want, as Sara prefers a more traditional look while John prefers a more modern aesthetic. As they weigh each option, they will ultimately come to a choice that works for both of them.
Watching House Hunters is always a fun and exciting experience, and season 2018 is no exception. Whether you're in the market for a home or just enjoy exploring different real estate options, this show is sure to be a hit.
