Ep 23. Building a Business in Bali, Indonesia

As avid travelers and entrepreneurs, Rich and Kelly both share a deep love for Bali, Indonesia. They have decided to take the next step in their business ventures and move their company, a luxury swimwear brand, to the island. In order to make this dream a reality, they have enlisted the help of local real estate agent, Ayu, to find them the perfect home and headquarters for their business.
The first property Ayu shows them is a stunning villa in the heart of the trendy neighborhood of Seminyak. This four-bedroom, four-bathroom property has a large pool and plenty of outdoor space for entertaining. Rich and Kelly are immediately drawn to the open floor plan and sleek design. It's the perfect space for them to live and work, but at a price point that is higher than they were hoping.
The next property they visit is a more budget-friendly option in the up-and-coming area of Kerobokan. This three-bedroom, three-bathroom villa has a more traditional Balinese design, with thatched roofs and intricate woodwork. However, the layout is not as conducive to their business needs, with no designated office space and a smaller pool.
Ayu also takes them to view an impressive piece of land on the outskirts of Ubud, a laid-back area known for its picturesque rice paddies and serene atmosphere. The land is 2,500 square meters and has breathtaking views of the jungle and river below. Although there is currently no structure on the land, the potential for building a custom home and office is endless. However, the possibility of a lengthy construction process and a more remote location may be a deterrent.
Throughout their search, Rich and Kelly must navigate the challenges of operating a business remotely, as well as the cultural differences and language barriers that come with relocating to a foreign country.
