In "Bad Boys," the ninth episode of season six of Hot In Cleveland, the ladies of the show find themselves dealing with some particularly unruly men.
As the episode opens, Joy heads to the bar to meet up with Bob, her new flame. However, when she arrives, she's surprised to see that he's already in the company of two rowdy friends from work. Though she tries her best to get along with the men, they prove to be overly boisterous and Joy begins to feel out of her element. Meanwhile, Elka is visited by her old friend Roy, who she quickly realizes is only interested in partying and causing trouble. And to make matters worse, Victoria's son Tony comes to town and immediately begins disrupting her life, leaving her feeling both concerned and embarrassed.
As the episode progresses, the women try to find ways to deal with their respective bad boys. Joy, feeling unappreciated and out of place with Bob's friends, decides to let them go and instead opt for a night out with Melanie and Victoria. Elka, too, grows frustrated with Roy's behavior and ultimately gives him an ultimatum, telling him to shape up or ship out. And after a particularly awkward interaction with Tony, Victoria decides to take a hands-off approach with her son, hoping that he'll eventually wise up and make better decisions on his own.
Throughout the episode, the women's struggles with their bad boys serve as a reminder of the different ways that people can be toxic or troublesome. Whether it's someone who's too loud or someone who refuses to take responsibility for their actions, dealing with challenging personalities can be exhausting and frustrating. However, as the ladies of Hot In Cleveland prove, it's possible to stand up for oneself and set boundaries, even in the face of difficult people.
Overall, "Bad Boys" is an engaging and relatable episode that highlights the challenges of dealing with problematic individuals. With its witty writing and strong performances, it's a great addition to the already impressive sixth season of the hit show.
