Hope & Faith was an American television sitcom that aired on ABC from September 2003 to May 2006. The show starred Faith Ford as Hope Shanowski and Kelly Ripa as Faith Fairfield, two sisters with vastly different personalities. Hope is a stay-at-home mom married to an airline pilot, while Faith is a former soap opera actress whose career has hit a rough patch. When Faith moves in with Hope and her family in suburban Connecticut, their clashing personalities lead to many hilarious situations.
Ted McGinley portrayed Hope's husband, Charlie, who often found himself caught in the middle of the sisters' squabbles. Nicole Paggi played Sydney Shanowski, Hope and Charlie's teenage daughter, and Megan Fox had the role of Sydney's friend, Sydney Shanowski, who was known for her beauty and ditzy personality. Macey Cruthird played Hayley Shanowski, Hope and Charlie's youngest daughter, who was the voice of reason in the family.
Paul Litowsky played Father Mike, the local Catholic priest who often counseled the Shanowski family through their various problems. Though he was a religious figure, Father Mike was often portrayed as hapless and eccentric, adding a comedic element to the show.
The series followed the lives of Hope and Faith as they navigated their differences and tried to coexist under one roof. Faith, still struggling with the end of her career, often attempted to regain her celebrity status, much to the chagrin of her sister. Hope, for her part, tried to keep her family together while dealing with the various shenanigans brought on by Faith's unpredictable behavior.
One of the major themes of the show was the relationship between sisters, and how even in times of conflict, they rely on each other for support. The sisters often bickered and argued, but at the end of the day, they always came together to support each other. This message of family unity made Hope & Faith a wholesome and heartwarming show.
In addition to the main cast, the show featured a variety of guest stars, including Robert Wagner, Regis Philbin, Mark Consuelos, and Susan Lucci, who played an exaggerated version of herself. These appearances helped to add even more humor and star power to the show.
Overall, Hope & Faith was a beloved sitcom that captured the hearts of viewers during its three-year run. With its relatable characters and family-centric themes, the show left a lasting impact on its audience.
