Ep 5. Rest in Peace

In the season 9 episode 5 of Homicide Hunter called "Rest in Peace," retired Colorado Springs detective Joe Kenda is back to investigate the murder of a young woman who was found dead in her apartment. The victim, Brandy, was brutally stabbed multiple times and left lying in a pool of her own blood.

Kenda and his team begin their investigation by speaking to Brandy's friends and family, trying to piece together her last moments alive. They learn that Brandy recently ended a relationship and had been receiving threatening messages from her ex-boyfriend. Initially, Kenda suspects that the ex-boyfriend could be responsible for the murder, but further investigation reveals that there may have been more people involved.

As Kenda digs deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit and lies surrounding Brandy's life. From her unreliable roommate to her drug dealer, everyone seems to be hiding something. Kenda also discovers that Brandy had a secret boyfriend who she was trying to keep hidden from everyone.

The investigation takes a surprising turn when a witness comes forward claiming to have seen the killer leaving Brandy's apartment on the night of the murder. With this new information, Kenda and his team are able to identify the main suspect and bring him in for questioning.

The suspect is uncooperative at first, but with the evidence piling up against him, he eventually confesses to the murder. Kenda and his team are able to piece together the motive for the killing, and it's a shock to everyone involved.
