Carrie Mathison is back in the field, after her recent stint in solitary confinement. She's tasked with accompanying Yevgeny Gromov, a former Russian spy who's now turned informant for the United States. The stakes are high as she sets out on a mission to capture Taliban leader Haissam Haqqani, who's responsible for the deaths of several US soldiers.
The show opens with Carrie and Yevgeny on a plane to a remote location in Afghanistan. As they disembark, they're met by a group of locals who transport them to their destination. On the way, they come under attack from Taliban fighters who are intent on stopping their mission.
Despite the obstacles in their way, Carrie and Yevgeny manage to reach their destination, a safe house where they can plan their next move. The tension is palpable as Carrie tries to figure out Yevgeny's true intentions. Is he really on their side, or is he just playing a long game?
Meanwhile, President Warner is dealing with his own issues back in the United States. He's facing intense pressure over a peace deal he's negotiated with the Taliban, which is now on the brink of falling apart. As he tries to salvage the deal, he's also dealing with a personal crisis of his own.
Back in Afghanistan, Carrie and Yevgeny come up with a plan to capture Haqqani. They manage to infiltrate his compound, but things quickly spiral out of control. The team is split up, with Carrie finding herself in a dangerous situation that could put her life in jeopardy.
As the episode comes to a close, we're left wondering what the future holds for Carrie and the rest of the team. Will they be able to capture Haqqani and bring him to justice? Or will their mission end in failure?
