In "Whose Car Is it Anyway?" the sixth episode of season six of Home Improvement, Tim Taylor is determined to resurrect his old hot rod called "Soup's On," and do some souping-up on it. But, when he finds out it's not in the garage where he left it, his worries begin to spiral and he becomes convinced that someone has stolen it. As he investigates, he discovers that his arch-nemesis, Doc Johnson, has bought and restored Soup's On, and now Tim has to fight to get his hot rod back.
Meanwhile, Jill and Karen are starting their catering business and are preparing for their first event. Their first client, a wealthy and finicky woman, orders an elaborate menu that they have never cooked before. However, Jill doesn't have the proper tools in her kitchen to adequately prepare the food, and time is running out before the event.
Back at the garage, Tim decides to challenge Doc Johnson for a race to determine who gets to keep Soup's On. The winner keeps the car, and the loser must donate it to charity. After a heated race, Tim emerges victorious. In the end, Tim returns Soup's On to his garage, but realizes that things might have gotten out of hand and he should probably take the car apart and rebuild it from scratch.
Meanwhile, the catering event is a success, despite a few small mishaps. Jill and Karen are happy with how the event turned out and plan on expanding their new business.
As always, the Taylor family antics are charmingly chaotic, and each character brings their own unique personality to the show. The episode is heartwarming and funny, and showcases the Taylor family's strength and unity in the face of various challenges.
"Whose Car Is it Anyway?" is an entertaining and delightful episode of Home Improvement, full of fun, laughs, and a few lessons along the way. Fans of the show will enjoy seeing Tim and the rest of the Taylor family in action, as they navigate the ups and downs of life with humor and heart.
