In this episode of Home Improvement season 6, episode 3 titled "Workshop 'Til You Drop," Tim is tasked with creating a workshop for Mark in the garage. Mark needs the space for his new band and all of their instruments.
Tim agrees but finds himself distracted by his new neighbor Karen. After Karen tells Tim she liked the theater setup he created in his house, Tim decides to one-up himself with a new surround sound system.
While Tim is focused on creating the perfect sound system, Jill helps Mark develop his own workshop skills. Jill goes with Mark to a woodworking class and encourages him to make his own workbench for the garage.
Meanwhile, Tim enlists the help of his friends to create the perfect sound system. They work for hours while Karen's father visits and flirts with Wilson.
As the workshop and sound system come together, Tim realizes that he's spent all of his money and needs to return some items to the store. He ends up bumping into Karen there and they get into a small argument over which sound system is better.
In the end, Mark's workshop is complete and he thanks Jill for all of her help. Tim returns the excess items and finds that the store is having a big sale on surround sound systems. Karen happens to be there looking at the same systems and the two end up bonding over their love of music.
The episode ends with Tim and Karen exchanging numbers and Jill being proud of the workbench that Mark has created.
