In season 1 episode 9 of Home Improvement, entitled "Bubble, Bubble, Toil And Trouble," Tim Taylor (played by Tim Allen) is determined to fix the bathroom sink, which has been clogged for weeks. In typical Tim fashion, he decides to take on the project himself, instead of calling a plumber, and enlists the help of his neighbor Wilson (played by Earl Hindman) for advice.
Meanwhile, Jill (played by Patricia Richardson) is dealing with her own plumbing problem, as the toilet in the upstairs bathroom is constantly running and driving her crazy. She tries to fix it herself, but ends up making things worse.
As Tim and Wilson work on the sink, they discover a strange bottle buried in the ground. Curiosity gets the best of Tim, and he opens the bottle, unleashing a mysterious gas. The gas causes Tim and Wilson to become loopy and hallucinate, leading to some hilarious moments.
Meanwhile, Jill's attempts to fix the toilet result in her becoming covered in water and making a mess of the bathroom. She eventually gives up and decides to call a plumber, much to Tim's chagrin.
Back in the garage, Tim has another mishap with the gas when he accidentally spills some on himself and starts hallucinating about a group of dancing tool girls. Wilson helps him snap out of it, and the two continue to work on the sink.
In the end, both plumbing problems are fixed (one by Tim and Wilson, and the other by the plumber) and the family can go back to their daily routines. However, Tim is left wondering what exactly was in that bottle and if it had any long-lasting effects.
Overall, "Bubble, Bubble, Toil And Trouble" is a classic episode of Home Improvement that showcases Tim's DIY prowess, Jill's frustration with his antics, and the comedic chemistry between Tim and Wilson.
