After a momentous victory against Meisei High, the Ushio Sumo Club is assigned an unexpected match against the relatively unknown Takerei High. However, the match is no ordinary one, as it is also the time for the Great Heinous Ogre Festival, an annual event where sumo wrestlers across Japan compete for the title of the Best Heinous Ogre.
As the Ushio Sumo Club prepares for the event, they come across an old Onikiri sword, a national treasure that was said to have belonged to a legendary sumo wrestler called Onikiri Yasutsuna. Despite being a formidable fighter, Yasutsuna retired from sumo at the height of his career and subsequently disappeared from the public eye, with many questioning the reason for his abrupt departure.
