The show Highway Thru Hell takes viewers on a thrilling ride along Canada's treacherous Coquihalla Highway, where tow truck drivers brave extreme conditions to rescue stranded and wrecked vehicles. In season 3, episode 5, titled "Back in the Saddle," the tow truck operators face another challenging day on the road.

As the episode opens, conditions are cold and wet, with icy roads and falling snow making driving treacherous. But for the operators of Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue, there's no time to slow down - they're in the middle of a busy season, with calls coming in around the clock.

In one harrowing scene, the crew responds to an overturned semi-truck, which has spilled a load of logs across the highway. The logs pose a serious safety hazard for other drivers, but getting the truck upright and clearing the road is a daunting task. The crew must work quickly and carefully to avoid further damage and ensure everyone stays safe.

Elsewhere, operator Al Quiring faces a personal challenge as he returns to work after a serious injury. Al was badly hurt in an accident, and he's spent months recuperating and undergoing surgery. Now, he's eager to get back to work and prove that he's still a valuable member of the team. But with his arm in a brace and his range of motion limited, he knows it won't be easy.

Despite his injury, Al jumps back into the fray, working alongside cousin Cary Quiring to pull a semi-truck up a steep, wet embankment. The pair use winches and cables to pull the truck inch by inch, battling against the slippery slope and the weight of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, Jamie Davis heads back to the compound to deal with some personnel issues. He's been displeased with the performance of a new driver, and he's decided it's time to bring in an old hand to take over. He calls out Adam Gazzola, one of his top drivers, to take the reins and get things back on track.

Adam is more than up to the task, and he quickly identifies the problem with the new driver's approach. He works to train the driver in the best practices for recovery, including how to properly rig a truck and use winches to get vehicles back on the road. With Adam's guidance, the new driver quickly improves, and the team is stronger than ever.

As the episode comes to a close, the drivers of Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue reflect on the dangers of their work and the importance of their job. They know that every call could be a life-or-death situation, and they're dedicated to doing everything in their power to keep themselves and their fellow drivers safe. With snow and ice continuing to fall, they brace themselves for the challenges of the road ahead, ready for whatever comes their way in the season's final episodes.

Overall, "Back in the Saddle" is a thrilling, action-packed episode of Highway Thru Hell, showcasing the skills and bravery of Canada's top tow truck operators. From the heart-stopping moment of the overturned semi-truck to Al Quiring's inspiring return to work, viewers are treated to a front-row seat to the drama and danger of life on the Coquihalla Highway.
